New Cabinet In Burundi Named
(N.Z.P A. Reuter—Copyright) NAIROBI, July 13. Burundi Radio has announced a new Cabinet for the Central African kingdom where Crown Prince Charles Ndizeye last week ousted his absent father as ruler and dismissed the previous government.
Broadcasting over the radio, [heard in Nairobi, the premierdesignate, Captain Michel Micombero, said he would also hold the Ministries of Defence —of which he was Secretary of State in the previous Government —and that of Internal Affairs. He named Mr Sasungo Kopl as the new Foreign Minister. The Cabinet has yet to be sworn in. Captain Micombero called for unconditional support for “national restoration.”
Earlier, the 19-year-old Crown Prince called for national unity in a broadcast appeal. His 55-year-old father. King Mwambutsa IV, who has been in Europe since November, maintains be is still the country’s ruler.
