Hanoi Bombing
Sir, “Democracy” is the one suffering from delusions on the Communist threat to the Western world. I only know of the cold, hard facts concerning this ruthless totalitarian system, where the rights of the individual are more insignificant than a grain of sand. A system requiring iron or bamboo curtains, plus machine guns to kill all who seek the freedom of the West, is very sick indeed and is doomed to failure in time at the hands of its own people. I would think that Congress is comprised of a sufficient cross-section of American people to obtain a rational outlook on the bombing of Hanoi, to show the Communists we mean to halt their ruthless progress in Southeast Asia. War is not good, but their foul system is worse. Their supply centres must be bombed.—Yours, etc., F.W.P.F. July 12, 1966.
