INCENTIVES FOR STAFF

Pay Based On Service Pay increments based on length of service will be paid to the Paparua County Council’s works staff. This decision was reached by the council at its monthly meeting on the recommendation of a sub-committee. The sub-committee reported that the council already paid 6d an hour over award rates and that the men worked two hours and a half of overtime a week. It was felt that there should be more incentive for long service. The sub-committee recommended that Id an boor extra be paid after two years’ service, 2d after three years, Sd after four years, 4d after five years, 5d after six years and 6d after seven years. This meant that a man with more than seven years’ service would get £2 above the award. The reeommendattoa was adopted.
