CLAIM FOR WAGES
Shunter Who Was Suspended (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 11. In the Supreme Court at Auckland today a 38-year-old shunter claimed £370 in lost wages from the Railways Department. The plaintiff, Marinus Gerardus Daane, claimed wages lost during a 24-week suspension after his conviction in the Magistrate’s Court on April 9, 1964, on a charge of receiving stolen goods. The suspension was lifted after this conviction was set aside on appeal to the Supreme Court. Daane was represented by Mr F. H. Haigh and Mr. R. A Adams-Smith. The defendant, the Attorn-ey-General, sued in respect of the Railways Department, was represented by Mr D. S. Morris. Mr Justice Moller reserved his decision.
