COMPLAINED TOO MUCH
Budin Bans Camper OV.g. Pr«s» CopwrtoM) LONDON, July 11. The founder of the world's biggest and best known holiday camps, Sir Billy Butlin, has banned his champion camper, the “Daily Mirror" said today. Fred Blackman and his wife Doris, who were among the original Butlin campers at Sir Billy Budin’s first holiday camp at Skegness in 1936, complained too much, the organisation said. Fred Blackman also incited other campers to complain about camp service, the officials added. But Mr Blackman is heartbroken. Every year for 30 years he and his wife have been going to the Budin camps, and Mrs Blackman said: “Budin’s is his main interest in life.” Mr Blackman, aged 68, a retired shopkeeper, and his wife, have 186 Butlin camp souvenir medals, have been photographed with Sir Billy Butlin, and because of regular attendance were given special terms and privileges. Mr Blackman, who said, “I'm practically a walking public relations man for Sir Billy Butlin,” has emphatically denied the complaining charge. “After all these years it will be a problem to find somewhere else,” he added.
