Ryan Passes Test

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. Set the task of running six miles in 30min, M. R. Ryan showed his Empire Games form by running his marathon fitness trial in 29min 32.1 sec at Tokoroa on Sunday. Because heavy rain had swamped athletic tracks in the Waikato, he ran the trial on a surveyed Ij-mile stretch of main highway. Two club mates ran with Ryan over the last two miles but found difficulty in keeping up with his pace.
