Former Coach Transfers
The 1965 Papanui senior Rugby League coach, L. R. Clarke, was last evening granted a transfer to the Christchurch club provided that Papanui verified that he had not played for 12 months. Clarke was granted an immediate transfer to coach, but if he ha« played during the last 12 months he wUi have to undergo a four-playing Saturday suspension. Members of the board of control said that Clarke had two sons playing for Christchurch and that he had moved to the district. It was understood that he intended to play only if necessary. Schoolboy Games Teams of former national under-15 tournament players wild meet the Ex-Kiwis and the Canterbury senior reserve team on Sunday, July 24. The senior reserve team will play West Coast at the Show Grounds the following Saturday as a curtain-raiser to the senior representative match. Referees Mr P. Yaxley (Canterbury) toll referee the match between Taranaki and Bay of Plenty at New Plymouth on July 30. The New Zealand Council also advised of the appointment of Mr W. Telford as the manager of the Kiwi team to play Britain in the first teat at Auckland on August 6.
