Award To City Professor

CJf.Z. Preu Association? AUCKLAND, July 11. The Cheeseman-Pond prize, open to any scientist in New Zealand and judged on papers published within five years before the award, was presented tonight to Professor L. F. Phillips, research professor at the University of Canterbury. The prize was presented on behalf of the Auckland Museum and Institute by the institute’s president, Mr S. G. Brooker. The prize—a cheque—is for the purchase of books and instruments.

Conference Delegates.—The chairman of the board of governors of the Christchurch Technical Institute, Mr R. Jones, and Mr W. D. Johnson, have been appointed board delegates to the Technical Education Association conference, to be held at Nelson from October 4 to 6.
