MANY VISIT LAKE IDA
More than 1200 persons visited Lake loa on Sunday in about 230 cars and five buses.
A cold and gusty north-west wind made condition unpleasant for spectators, but skaters had hard, fast ice. Many visitors walked to little Lake Ida to watch the second final day of the national speed ice-skating championships. On Saturday evening Lake Ida Winter Sports Association members held night skating on floodlit rinks, the first time this has been done for several years. Curling and ice hockey were played.
The last cars left Lake Ida about 5.30 p.m. in driving north-west snow.
