Interested In N.Z. Trip

The new world decathlon record-holder, W. Twoomey, of the United States, is interested in a trip to New Zealand.

Mr D. W. Mackenzie, who met Twoomey in America recently, told the executive committee of the Canterbury Athletics Centre that the recordholder had expressed his ’ willingness to compete in the Dominion. Mr Mackenzie described Twoomey as “a one-man band.” He cold run 440 yd in 47.1 sec, throw the javelin more than 200 ft and long jump 25ft. The committee decided to forward the information to the New Zealand association.
