Snatchem (Le Fllou—Glorify > started 7/2 second favourite in the Two-year-old Handicap, ano won by half a length from Dere Het (33/1), with Red Matrtc* (10/1) one and three-quarter length* away third. Snatchem ran from eighth at the hair-mil* to win brilliantly. The New Zealand Cup winner, Alaska, made hie Auitrailan debut on Saturday and finished a good fifth in the onemile Welter Handicap, but then disgraced himself. Back tn the enclosure, Alaska lashed out and caught his New Zealand trainer, V. P. Bernard, a painful blow on th* right leg above the knee.
