Levy On Axle Weights ?

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 10. A proposition to levy heavy traffic fees on the basis of axle weights was being considered, said the Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine). He was replying to Mr J. B. Gordon (Govt., Clutha). The proposal was being considered together with the current practice of charging on gross vehicle weight. No decision had yet been made, he said.
