To Return To Avenging

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A > The actress, Diana Rigg, alias Emma Peel of the “Avengers” television series, today assured her New Zealand fans she was not mercenary and had never “held a gun at the head” of A.B.C. Television demanding three times her original salary for a new series.

She said she was delighted the series had proved such a success in New Zealand and was “extremely thrilled” by all the letters she had received.

Today, two national newspapers announced that Miss Rigg would play in a new "Avengers” series at three times her old pay.

The boost to £450 a week makes her Britain’s highestpaid television actress.
