HUNDRED TO HAWTHORNE
The Papanui centre, J. C. Hawthorne, became the flrat senior Rugby League player in Canterbury to score more than 100 points in club matches when he kicked a goal against Addington on Sat-
urday. His total is now 101, from three tries and 46 goals. He had been on 99 for two weeks, having been in Wellington with the Canterbury team the previous week. Another fine kicking performance by J. E. Bond (Kaiapoi) almost robbed Hawthorne of the honour of reaching his century first Bond kicked six goals against Linwood to move to 98 points, from 49 goals. I. T. Drayton (Hornby) now has 94, A. Tuuta (Sydenham) 75, and W. Morrison (Christchurch) 68.
