Waikato Still Unbeaten

Superior handling and penetration enabled Waikato to retain its unbeaten Rugby League record this season when It beat Taranaki, 2614, at New Plymouth on Saturday. Taranaki won a major share of possession, but its players too often stood still when taking passes. For Waikato, B. Baraket (2), R. Cranston, W. Paki (2), and W. Deacon scored tries, and Deacon kicked four conversions. For Taranaki. A. Marshall and R. Nickorima scored tries and R. Gordona converted one and kicked three penalties.
