MANCHESTER UNITED TO PLAY IN N.Z.
LONDON. One of Britain * glamour soccer teams. Manchester United, will make a nine-match tour of Australia and New Zealand next year. The team might also play in Fiji. This was announced in London oh Friday by the secretary of the Australian Soccer Federation (Mr 1. A. McAndrew) after talks with Manchester United officials, ineluding the manager (Mr M. "The terms and conditions for the tour have been agreed to in principle," Mr McAndrew said. He also disclosed that Scotland has made approaches to send a football team to Australia and New Zealand next year The Scottish Football Association is interested in playing three or four matches in Australia and New Zealand during an Asian and Pacific tour.
"Discussions will continue over the next few days,” said Mr McAndrew. "1 would like to know more about the terms and conditions Scotland is asking, but the Scottish association has made it very clear that it will be a truly national team.”
