SEVEN CHURCHILL FELLOWS TO VISIT
Seven of the 66 persons recently awarded travelling fellowships under the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in Britain will visit New Zealand, and study aspects of life for varying periods. Two will study aspects of agriculture. Mr A. Anthony, of Bedford, has been granted a six-months'
fellowship to study public health services and their relationship with the patient. Mrs M. Berkeley, of Leeds, will spend six months studying the organisation, positions and achievements of trade unions. Mr W. M. Gardner, of Tenterden, will spend three months in Australia and New Zealand studying indigenous art and craft. Miss J. Hastings, of Edinburgh, will spend four months in Australia and New Zealand exchanging ideas on youth work. A six-months’ study of lowcast production in dairy farming will be conducted in New Zealand by Mr G. T. Heeley, of Bedale. A three-months’ study of new methods of dairy farming and grass conservation will be undertaken by Mr A. J. Salman, of Leatherhead. Miss H. Taylor, of Nuneaton, will spend three months studying health and welfare services.
