Irrigation In Canterbury Water charges were currently under review on the Ashburton-Lyndhurst, May-field-Hinds, Levels Plain and Redcliff irrigation schemes, where irrigation agreements had expired. This was stated in the civil engineering division report, for the year ended March 31, in the Ministry of Works Statement tabled in Parliament yesterday. Preliminary surveys were in hand for the proposed ValettaTinwald scheme, the report added. Water demand for the season was below average because of a more even rainfall distribution. Good progress i had continued with land preIparation, seven graders haviing been fully occupied on border-dike work for farmers.
