Obituary MR V. L. JENSEN
Mr Victor Leopold Jensen, a prominent Rugby administrator for more than 30 years, died in Christchurch on Tuesday. After a notable career in club Rugby, Mr Jensen was elected to the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union in 1929. He was chairman from 1347-49 and was a life member of the unidn. Mr Jensen was a member of the Victory Park Board for many years. He served as chairman and was a life member of the board. His club was Technical College Old Boys and he played for the first team in the club. His career was cut short by an accident. He held every post in the club administration before becoming a life member.
During his administrative career on the provincial union he was manager of the 1935 Canterbury team which won the Ranfurly Shield from Auckland. '
Mr Jensen was employed by Smiths City Market. He was successively accountant, secretary and a director of the firm’s associated companies.
