GOING TO AUST.

N.Z. League Leaders (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The chairman (Dr. L. J. Cooney) and the deputy chairman (Mr R. G. McGregor) will represent the New Zealand Rugby League Council at a meeting of the International Rugby League Board at Sydney on July 2223. Delegates from Britain, France and Australia will also attend the meeting to discuss the laws of the game, clearances, and World Cup itineraries. This was decided at a meeting of the New Zealand Council on Tuesday evening. The New Zealand delegates will seek to continue the five-yearly cycle of international tours, would support the present system of long tours (three Saturday? in New Zealand) by both England and France, and to continue the transfer ban on players among England, Australia and New Zealand. While in Australia Dr. Cooney and Mr McGregor will also meet officials of the Queensland Rugby League to arrange dates for a proposed tour of New Zealand by Queensland early next year. Queensland will be invited to play against the North and South Island teams, probably on April 29 and 30 or May 6 and 7.
