Hotels Plan For Decimal
The hotel industry throughout New Zealand will convert to decimal currency on the change day with the aid of key-top conversion on cash registers, according to the annual report of the Canterbury Hotel Association. “This will enable the industry to accept both types of currency and will avoid any confusion on the part of the travelling public,” said the report. The New Zealand Hotel Association, in consultation with its Australian counterpart, has undertaken valuable research to ensure a smooth and efficient change, the report says. It will conduct an educational programme to assist all reception and bar staff and hoteliers.
