Not For Export The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) has ruled out ithe possibility of the establishment of an opossum meat industry on the West Coast. He has said that eviuence 'placed before him by a group: iof experts was that the export) lof opossum carcases could not Ibe successful. The Minister I said there was evidence of a ' considerable amount of ille■gal activity with poisons and in such circumstances, he i could not see how veterinarians of the Meat Division of | his department could give a health certificate for opossums.—(F.O.O.R.) Dull Day The weather was dull in Christchurch yesterday with (light rain at times. The wind was a light westerly in the morning and a moderate south-westerly in the afternoon. Temperatures at Harewood were 40 degrees at 6 a.m., 42 degrees at 9 a.m., and 44 degrees at noon and 3 p.m. The maximum was 44 degrees.
