Last Parade On Royalist
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 28. The flag of H.M.N.Z.S. Royalist will be lowered for the last time on Monday when the cruiser is officially decommissioned with a ceremony at sunset. She will go out of service to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne,” played by the Navy Band and with a guard of honour mounted. The ship’s company will also parade. The Royalist will be dismantled before tenders are called for her scrapping. Most of her complement will serve in the new frigate Waikato, due early next year, and the hired frigate, Blackpool, now working up off the English coast.
