Automatic Car Washer
ST. ANNES (England). What is claimed as Europe’s first completely automatic car washer is in use in the Lancashire town of St. Annes. A car can be cleaned and dried for 3s 6d in six minutes. When the motorist drives in, he breaks a photocell magic eye circuit and the car is sprayed with water. Brushes move over the car and a detergent is sprayed on. A final spray rinses the car.
Working day and night, the washer can deal with 4000 cars a week.
