Western’s Opponent
Canterbury's Chatham Cup qualifier, Western, the last club to bring soccer’s major trophy to Christchurch, 11 years ago, will have to wait until July 9 to know its opponent in the South Island semifinals. On that date Nelson Rangers and Blenheim Athletic will meet in Blenheim for the right to play Western. The South Island semi-final will be played in either Nelson or Blenheim, depending on the winner.
It was reported in “The Press” yesterday that Nelson Rangers had already qualified.
