Failed In Games Bid

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Mrs A. Mclntosh and Miss G. Stewart made their fourth, and final, unsuccessful attempts to enter the New Zealand team for the Jamaican Empire Games on Mt. Smart stadium on Sunday. Mrs Mclntosh ran two 80 metres hurdles races against the national champion, Miss B. Matthews, and was beaten narrowly in each. Miss Stewart, who has travelled from Hamilton four times in the last three weeks to try to better her fastest half-mile time, was veil below her best in recording 2min 15.2 sec.
