Joint Charges Of Fraud
(N.Z. Press Association) - AUCKLAND, June 24. Two Australians were remanded until July 1, when they appeared before Mr E. F. Rothwell, S.M., today, on a joint charge of intending to defraud by attempting to destroy the documents of Leidrum and Hartnell, Ltd., and three joint charges of false pretences. They are Noel James MeGrugan, aged 39, a company representative, and Patricia May Keane, aged 28, a secretary. They also faced a separate charge of conspiring with Robert John Gardner to defraud by false pretences. No plea was taken. They first appeared in Court last Saturday, when only one joint false pretence charge, involving £1656 was preferred. The three joint false pretences charges they now face involve £4968 and allege false representation to supply cosmetics. '
