Mothers’ Union “Static”

Membership had remained more or less static over the last seven years, in spite of considerable population increase and the energy and drive of its members, said Mrs F. M. Pierre in her annual report to the diocesan branch of the Mothers’ Union last week.

Although members were not lost from the union, it wag not attracting a younger membership. “Is our exclusive rule of membership one of the factors that detracts the younger women from joining our organisation?” asked Mrs Pierre. This question was discussed at the Dominion executive meeting in April and the Diocesan findings would be discussed at the Dominion Council in August, said Mrs Pierre,

More than £lOOO had been contributed to the Dominion Overseas Fund, since April, 1965, said the treasurer (Mrs N. M. Anderson) in her report. Of this sum, £l5O had been raised from the sale of used stamps and £75 from tea-coupons.

For Young Models.—Claude Lelief, director of Lucky’s School for Mannequins in Paris, has opened a new school on the Rue de Ponthieu for girls aged from 10 to 14.
