Rhodes Told Action Fair

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter— Copyright) LONDON. The England and Derbyshire fast bowler, Rhodes, who has been the subject of an inquiry on throwing, had his action cleared on Friday. l The counties adjudicating sub-committee said that his action is basically fair but at the same time it will still be up to the umpire to judge whether the ball is thrown. Unhappy that he had not been given absolute clearance, Rhodes said: “I have never thrown a ball in my life and I challenge anybody to produce a film or photograph that can prove otherwise. “Obviously these people are not aware of the severe mental and physical strain I have been under while they have been discussing my future.”
