COAL-FIRED GENERATOR
Decision Soon On Site

WELLINGTON, June 24.
The Ministry of Electricity (Mr Shand) said today that a decision would be made soon on the site of a coal-fired generating station to supply electricity to the North Island grid. He said he had received the report from the Government’s consultants on the siting of the station but needed a “certain amount” of further information before he could make a final recommendation to the Government.
