Talks Will Be Prolonged
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 24.
Discussions between representatives of the Reserve Bank and the Stock Exchange are continuing with a view to restoring a limited market for overseas securities in New Zealand, according to a joint statement tonight by the Reserve Bank and the Stock Exchange Association.
“The complexities of the operation, particularly the need to avoid the securities market being used to divert overseas funds from the official reserves, make it obvious that completion of these negotiations will take some time,” it said.
