CAPTAIN OUT

Poole Will Miss Test

SYDNEY. The British captain, H. Poole, yesterday was officially withdrawn from the team to play the first Rugby League test against Australia at Sydney today. The vice-captain, K. Gowers, is still extremely doubtful and yesterday had an injection to hasten recovery of his ankle injury.

Gowers attended training yesterday morning but did not strip. Poole also was present but he did not attempt to train. A final decision on Gowers will not be made until this morning.

Poole's withdrawal means that D. Robinson will play loose forward, thus adding speed to the British pack. A. Keegan would probably replace Gowers.
