Murray Sent Down

The Cambridge University cricket captain, D. Murray, has been sent down from Jesus College for failing his i examinations for the second successive year. i Murray, aged 24, the West Indies’ wicketkeeper in all (five tests on their 1963 tour lof Britain, heard the news while playing for the University against Glamorgan at Cardiff in South Wales. A Cambridge don said: “Times have changed. Before the war a college would have done everything in its power to keep a cricket captain at Cambridge. But now it’s a man’s academic record which I matters."
