Plan For Administration Of Kaitawa Fund

AUCKLAND, June 24.

A draft scheme is being prepared for the administration of the Kaitawa relief fund. After being approved by an advisory committee the draft will be submitted to the Supreme Court for approval. Mr S. N. Hallett, the district Public Trustee, who is administering the fund on behalf of organisations and individuals who have made donations, said he would send copies of the draft to mem-

bers of the committee before calling a meeting. All decisions on the distribution of money from the fund would be made in association with the committee suggested by the Mayor of Auckland (Dr. R. G. McElroy). The members of the committee suggested by Dr. McElroy and accepted by the Public Trust are: Mrs B. Hook, president of the Seamen’s Wives’ Club; Canon J. Lawley Brown, of the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen; the Rev. G. Jeffries, a Presbyterian missioner: the Rev. L. V. Downey, a Roman Catholic chaplain; Mr G. F. H. Forsyth, a member of the Auckland City Council: Mr T. A. Curphey, secretary of the Auckland Seamen’s Union; Captain H. J. Petty, Auckland representative of the Merchant Service Guild; Mr C. S. Harnett, national and Auckland branch secretary of the Institute of Marine and Power Engineers: Mr R. R. Trainor, deputy superintendent of mercantile marine, Auckland, representing the Shipwreck Relief Society.

Other representatives may be added.
