Shipping
Sir, —Why do not the Government and exporters now take the opportunity of bringing in foreign shipping lines to lift our produce? The Conference Lines are strangling our economy and it appears that England is ditching us. Let us now deal with the countries we shall have to deal with in the future and begin by using their ships. Disastrous freight increases stare us in the face because of an archaic system. I think, we should get out and fight for our livelihood.— Yours, etc., KIWI. June 23, 1966.
