IRISH BEAR FLAGS
Unification
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 20. Two hundred demonstrators with Irish Republican flags and banners inarched to a rally in Trafalgar square today demanding British support for a “united Ireland.” Northern Ireland’s six counties, which are not part of the Irish Republic, have remained under British rule since 1920, when Dublin’s rebel leaders won independence. The Irish self-determination League, which organised the rally, called on the British Government to “adopt a more radical and progressive policy towards Ireland and declare itself in favour of a united Ireland."
