TO INSPECT FACTORIES
Seven Govt. M.P.s
Seven Government members of Parliament, with two senior departmental officers, will inspect three Christchurch factories and Lincoln College next week. The members will be the Under-Secretary of Finance (Mr Muldoon), and Messrs H. J. Walker, H. V. Donald, A. D. Dick, G. G. Grieve, H. Lanwood and H. L. Pickering. They will visit Lincoln College on Monday and inspect the Agricultural Engineering Institute. They will also visit Mace Engineering Ltd., P.D.L. Industries Ltd., and Lane Walker Rudkin Ltd.
The party will informally meet the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association on Monday. During their factory visits, they will be accompanied by the president of the association (Mr C. W. Mace) and secretary (Mr R. T. Alston).
Winter Sports Association. —Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Lake Ida Winter Sports Association were: patrons, Messrs S. J. Moore, M. R. Murchison, J. N. Murchison; president. Mr A. E. Lyttle; vice-president, Mr W. D. Bayne: honorary secretary, Miss J. M. Baynes; honorary treasurer, Mr J. R. Clark; committee. Messrs J. M. Havenaar, R. G. Keall, A. G. Elliot. D. J. Lyttle: honorary solicitor, Mr A. F. Shaw: honorary auditor, Mr C. F. Small.
