Obstacle Course

The driver of a Waits-kere-to-Auckland suburban train had to stop three times in less than half a mile yesterday afternoon to clear the track of obstructions.

The first obstacle comprised a 6ft length of heavy timber, a 701 b bag

of rail fastenings and a large rock. About a quarter of a mile past it wa< a heavy sft length of timber and 200 yards further was a pile of five sleepers. This morning another train was stopped in the same area while the crew removed a sleeper which had been placed on the line. The police are Investigating.
