ESPERANTO USED
Business Card
From Italy
A business reply card received from Italy by Mr C. 11. Brown, publicity officer of the Christchurch Esperanto Society, shows that at least one large company considers Esperanto a valuable language for international commerce.
It is produced by the Fiat Company of Turin, and is a picture postcard showing the sprawling Fiat works, which employ 125,000 workers. In Esperanto it invites visitors to Italy to tour the various Fiat enterprises and says “Esteemed ladies and gentlemen, from Turin, Fiat heartily greets you. The Fiat products are as widely distributed in the world as the international language Esperanto. If your journey includes Turin we shall be very pleased to demonstrate our motor car products to you.” The New Zealand Esperanto Association has also received a copy of -a film produced by the Italian company with an Esperanto sound track.
