BORDER CLASHES

p.N.ToSend Observer

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BANGKOK, June 22. Thailand has accepted the proposal of the United Nations SecretaryGeneral, U Thant, to send a representative to Cambodia and Thailand to prevent further border clashes between them. The Thai Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Thailand wanted U Thant's personal representative to have assistants who could be stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border to act as observers. The border dispute is of long standing; relations between the two countries were broken off in 1961. After repeated clashes, Cambodia complained to the United Nations Security Council last May, accusing Thailand of aggression.
