Coin Designs

Sir, —Could we not plead with the Cabinet to reconsider their mediocre decision on the designs for our future currency and urge them to accept the advice of the committee set up by themselves? After all, the majority of the advisory committee (those with some qualifications to judge) have recommended a reasonably good selection. In fact, the committee, who were unfortunately without the authoritative help of a sculptor or medallist, could not go far wrong by choosing designs by such distinguished designers as Milner Gray and Eric Fraser. Likewise the Cabinet could not help but go wrong by pandering to a false public opinion poll.—Yours, etC ’ ERIC J. DOUDNEY, F.R.8.5., M.S.I.A. Governor’s Bay, June 23, 1966.
