Bus Stops

Sir, —While I was at the 'South Brighton shopping area bus stop with kindergarten children today, a car stopped on the bus stop. When this was pointed out to the driver, he moved the car but said the bus stop was not legal. As this stop is used daily by children, cars parked on it can be rather a menace. The sign states: “Bus Stop. Keep Clear.”—Yours, etc., J. REYNOLDS. May 27, 1966. [The traffic superintendent (Mr J. F. Thomas) said: “This stop has been inspected and in our opinion is a perfectly legal stopping-place for buses. The appropriate sign is erected, and private vehicles should not be stopped within 20 feet of it"]
