Silver Plough Qualifier

E. J. Croy, of Wakanui, who represented New Zealand at the world ploughing championships in Austria in 1964, yesterday qualified for the final of the New Zealand silver plough contest at Gore next month. From a field of 10 competitors, he won the qualifying event when the CourtenayPaparua Ploughing Match Association held its annual fixture on the property of Mr S. Robertson, Courtenay.

Croy’s winning margin was the biggest at any of the qualifying events held this winter. He scored 145.6 points. J. R. Brown (Nelson), being second with 136, A. Johnson (Rakaia), third with 135.6. and R. Kingsbury (Wakanui), fourth with 135.3.
