BODY FOUND AT EPSOM
Inquest Opens Next Week (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 22. An inquest in which the police hope to be able to show that a decomposed body found some weeks ago in Epsom is that of Miss [ Lesley Margaret Soutter, aged 19, is expected to be opened before the Coroner (Mr A. D. Copeland), next Wednesday. The purpose of the hearing will be solely for identification, and the Coroner is then expected to adjourn his inquiry while the police continue checks into the cause of death and the circumstances of the finding of the body.
Several witnesses are expected to be called, including pathologists and analysts, and it is thought that key witnesses will be those who may have been able to match | the dental condition of the body with the known dental records of the missing girl. The sex of the body has been now definitely established as that of a female. The police are believed to be confident that the Coroner will be able to pronounce the remains as those of Miss Soutter.
Good Points Win.—The tall Negro, J. Houston, was never in trouble as he punched his way to a good points win over T. Scanlan at Auckland on Monday night. Scanlan was often in trouble during the bout and was put down twice in the eleventh round.
