ALONE, BUT NOT PALELY LOITERING, are J. S. Danielson (front) and his Papanui club-mate, J. H. Cleary, as they accelerate around a bend approaching the hill to Lyttelton on the harbour road from Governors Bay. They were the two remaining members of the break (1½ min) bunch in Saturday’s 42-mile Round the Harbour race from Halswell to Lyttelton. Cleary out-sprinted Danielson for third-fastest time.
