Hockey Ground Wanted

The Kaiapoi Men’s Hockey Club—the oldest in New Zealand had no playing ground of its own, the Kaiapoi Borough Council was told last evening in a letter from the club. A block of land at the end of Wesley street was to be developed Into a park, and the club wondered if it could have a playing field in the area. The club had three teams, there were several players living in the Riseley block, and at the Kaiapoi schools there were more than 30 boys who were up-and-coming players. It was decided the matter should be left to the reserves committee.
