He was Alan Robert Finlayson, aged 38, of Eastbourne street, Dunedin. The car apparently failed to take a bend and dived into the dam, which is the main water supply for Alexandra. The man, Mr Adamson, of Timaru, who was driving a New Zealand Express Company van, dived into the dam. He was joined by another motorist, but both were unable to rescue Mr Finlayson. Over Cliff The manager of Winstone Limited’s quarry at Tauranga was killed when the heavy truck he was driving plunged over a 400 ft drop at the quarry at 10 a.m. today. He was W. C. Hoyle, of Tauranga.
