ONE-ACT PLAYS
Kiccarton Plans For their first production of i 966 the Riccarton Players ill present three one-act lays in the Riccarton Town all from Tuesday until aturday next week. Many taking part in the iccarton plays will be i ‘membered from their parts > last year's successful pantohme "Ali Baba.” In “Ride a iger'’ Martin Rigby is cast s Geoff Belwin, a steady oung man contemplating larriage to Jill Spence Marie Henderson). Geoff's oung brother Wally (Doug larke) is the leader of a eddy Boy gang and his ssociation with Fran Walker Christine Scott) leads him ito trouble. Others in the ast include Dick Tremath nd Dora Gatehouse. “The Saint,” which recalls he case of a Mrs Gale (Ivy IcKenzie) who had been Acquitted of a murder charge, has Joan Lowe in the lead Bs Miss Francis, and Marjorie Sandbrook as her companion, with Judy Roch and Eleanor McKessar in other roles.
“Reprieve for an Angel,” a May by Iris Thomas of Christ’hurch, recently won the Religious Drama Festival and will bg performed with argely the same cast. The programme for the ■emainder of the year ncludes another three oneict plays in the first week of kugust, and later “Murder in :he Red Barn,” to be proiuced by Strath McKnight.
