Actor v. Athlete
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON.
The Wellington Publishing Company has been given permission to hold a charity tennis match in the centre of Wellington on June 30. The American actor, Charlton Heston, and triple Olympic gold medallist, Peter Snell, will be the principal players. It is proposed to hold
the matches on a temporary court in Mercer street in front of the Wellington Publie Library between 12.15 p.tn. and 2 p.m.
Mercer street will be closed off to traffic during this period. A collection will be taken for the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society.
The Wellington City Council last evening voted overwhelmingly in favour of the application.
