CANBERRA TALKS

P.M. To Lead Delegation (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 15. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) will lead the New Zealand delegation to Canberra later this month for the eleventh meeting of the S.EA..T.O. Council of Ministers and an A.N.Z.U.S. Council meeting. The delegates will include New Zealand’s representative on the S.E.AT.O. Council and Ambassador to Thailand (Sir Stephen Weir), the Ambassador to the United States (Mr G. R. Lairing), New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Australia (Mr J. L. Hazlett), the Chief of the Defence Staff (Lieutenant-General L. W. Thornton) and the head of the External Affairs Department’s defence division (Mr I. L. G. Stewart). Mr Hotyoake will leave Wellington for Canberra on June 25 with Mr Stewart and his private secretary, Mr H. S. Wells.

The S.E.A.T.O. meeting will be held from June 27-29 and the A.N.Z.U.S. meeting the next day.
